Coming Up: Existing Home Sales For January

Existing-home-sales data for January is due to be released by the at 10 a.m. Eastern. Economists polled by MarketWatch anticipate an increase to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.7 million from 4.61 million in December. The milder-than-normal January weather could give sales an outsized seasonal boost, according to Tom Porcelli, chief U.S. economist at RBC Capital Markets. Porcelli added that any "seasonal quirk" would be a short-lived phenomenon.
